Mental Disorders Depicted With Minimalist Posters by Graphic Designer Patrick Smith

It’s not always easy to capture the seriousness of conditions such as obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) or depression in a simple way.
Graphic designer Patrick Smith took on the challenge. He designed a series of striking minimalist posters that depict various mental disorders in a minimal style (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Agoraphobia, Anorexia Nervosa, Depression, Dissociative Identity Disorder, and Narcolepsy).
He came up with these designs in an attempt to break the silence surrounding mental illness and raise awareness of the topic as part of a wider mental health awareness program. But the true aim of his minimalist posters was to start a conversation around mental health issues, and so it did. Patrick’s designs have been picked up by the largest media outlets around the world and have helped raise awareness for various personal afflictions that don’t always get a mainstream voice.
